Microsoft is unveiling a new logo for it’s chromium-based Edge Browser a much needed welcome. The logo is a refreshing welcome and a shift from Microsoft’s tradition.
In August the company announced that it had released a beta version of the chromium powered engine. The official unveiling date however has not been announced.
The new look is a welcome to many who view the internet explorer logo as outdated and unappealing. Though the new logo spells and “E” in a wave form, the browser seems to be distancing itself from Internet Explorer.
Microsoft Edge has been playing second fiddle to its competitor Google, and with it’s Chromium-powered browser it hopes to catch-up.
Apart from the logo, the company has also added other features to the browser as well as redesigned it’s menu and settings. Like many other browsers, Edge is also focusing on privacy and has ad-blocking/tracking features.
With Microsoft unveiling the logo, it could possibly announce the release date of the Chromium Edge Browser next week during it’s Ignite Conference next week.
